Dr. Ran always focuses on the major strategic needs of the national big data application field, based on artificial intelligence, computer vision and big data intelligent analysis, deep learning and other advanced theoretical technology methods, mainly carries out key technology research and scientific basic research on the understanding of earth observation scenes by satellite and unmanned aircraft platform, especially on the ecological protection of the Qinling Mountains, the Yellow River ice pollution disaster monitoring and other aspects of vision task application needs have been deeply The research has been carried out in depth. As a technical backbone of the National Engineering Laboratory of Big Data Application Technology for Air, Space and Sea Integration, he has presided over and participated in 16 projects of the Science and Technology Commission of the Military Commission, National 973 and National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a total funding of more than 13 million RMB; applied for 10 invention patents; and published more than 20 academic papers in SCI and EI indexed high-level journals and conferences as the first/corresponding author.
本人始终聚焦国家大数据应用领域的重大战略需要，基于人工智能、计算机视觉与大数据智能分析、深度学习等先进理论技术方法，主要开展卫星、无人机平台对地观测场景理解等关键技术攻关和科学基础研究，特别对秦岭生态保护、黄河冰凌灾害监测等方面的视觉任务应用需求进行了深入挖掘。作为空天地海一体化大数据应用技术国家工程实验室的技术骨干，主持及参与了军委科技委预研项目、国家973和国家自然科学基金等项目 16 项，累计经费 1300 余万元；申请发明专利 10 项；以第一/通讯作者在 SCI、EI索引高水平期刊会议发表学术论文 20 余篇。
